Phish Spring Tour 2009?

This is so far from confirmed it probably shouldn’t even be taken seriously, but over at the Coventry Phish blog you can find a list of possible spring tour dates for the impending Phish reunion .

Looks like a pretty solid list to me, we can only hope we’d be so lucky as to get phish in the spring! I’m already trying to figure out which shows I could hit!

I’m sure we’ll see more of this kind of stuff as the actually reunion gets closer and closer. I can only imagine what the first show back will be like. I remember new years eve at MSG in ‘02, you could barely hear the first 10 minutes of Piper the crowd was going so crazy!

Phish Reunites at Brad Sands’ Wedding!

Hidden Track is reporting that Phish has played together again for the first time in four years at the wedding of former road manager Brad Sands. Now we’re talking! All the rumors and interviews and now this! Very cool. Sounds like some clips are starting to show up on YouTube, like this one (really poor quality, but hey, it’s phish, so people are psyched!).

From the report on Hidden Track:

“The quartet treated the crowd to a three song set that included old standbys Suzy Greenberg, Julius and Waste.”

This is really exciting, and hopefully it’s just a hint of what is on the way in the coming months. It’s crazy to see the momentum for Phish growing again, after what we were sure was the end. Yeah!

Rothbury Video - Mostly Phish Reunion

Posted on 5th September 2008 by admin in phish reunion - Tags: ,

Just came across this great clip again from the Rothbury Festival earlier this year. It’s as close to a Phish reunion as we’ve had since the band broke up in 2004. Pretty cool to see Trey, Mike and Jon all playing together again. I remember when I first saw this it gave me chills, just to see those guys up on stage playing music once more. Enjoy.

Trey has announced a short fall tour on the East Coast, dubbed the “Northern Expsoure Tour”.

10/16 Capitol Theatre - Port Chester, NY
10/17 Chevrolet Theatre - Wallingford, CT
10/18 Palace Theatre - Albany, NY
10/19 Higher Ground - Burlington, VT (Benefit for Seven Below Arts Initiative)
10/21 Lupo’s - Providence, RI
10/23 The Orpheum - Boston, MA
10/24 Electric Facory - Philadelphia, PA
10/25 The National - Richmond, VA

This will be with the “classic” TAB lineup of Trey Anastasio, Russ Lawton, Tony Markellis and Ray Paczkowski.

From the official realease:

“On October 16, Trey will embark on an eight show Fall tour with Classic TAB band mates Russ Lawton, Tony Markellis and Ray Paczkowski. Opening with a performance at the historic Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY, the tour stops at some familiar northeast venues including a benefit show for Seven Below Arts Initiative at the Higher Ground in Burlington, VT before closing at The National in Richmond, VA.
See Below for a full list of dates.

Tickets will be available through a real time presale beginning Friday, September 5th at 10:00am (Eastern Time) and ending Thursday, September 11th at 5:00pm (Eastern Time) at http://treytickets.rlc.net

It’s so great to see Trey getting back out there! It’s a pretty short tour compared to what we got used to in the past, but at this point Trey obviously needs to consider his health first and foremost. Plus, having fewer shows just makes each one all that more special. Hopefully it’s a sign of more good things to come.

Mike Says the Rumors Are True

Posted on 1st September 2008 by admin in Uncategorized

Over at the ColoradoDaily.com, Mike talks about his new album and striking out on his own. It’s a good glimpse into the direction he’s headed with his music right now. And of course, he talks about Phish.

“… and we’ll play together again at some point,” Gordon said. “There are no plans now, but it would be for something that was a ‘big deal.’ We’ve been talking about doing it again. It wouldn’t be as something nostalgic, it would be to re-invent ourselves.”

Seems like Mike is the only one really talking about this right now, but I guess that’s not surprising, seeing how he was supposedly the one who really didn’t want to end it all in the first place. He does caution that there is nothing set in stone right now, that it’s still at the point where they are just talking about it.

“The rumors are true, but it’s loose for right now.”

What can you say to that? Seems like it’s just a matter of time at this point. Better start saving up, I’m guessing touring will be a littke more expensive this time around, with higher ticket prices and higher gas prices as well.
