A big thanks to Mr Miner for providing such excellent tour coverage over the last two weeks. His positive, upbeat attitude makes each post enjoyable to read and gets the stoke up for what’s to come from our favorite heroes.
Speaking of which, he has a good post on which current Trey songs (old and new) might make it into the rotation when Phish comes back to the stage. I agree pretty much with all his assesments, and it’ll be fun to see what actually does get picked up by Phish.
You’ll also find a bunch of links to downloads for the recent shows on the same post, have at!

Guess I know what I am doing on Saturday morning…
Last night I had an incredible dream about being at the first reunion show. The energy was high, folks were estatic. And then the lights went down. The place goes nuts, and they open with Peaches En Regalia. Followed by Fluffhead. It felt so vivid and real, I woke up with a smile on my face.
So you heard it here first folks. I saw it in a dream, and that’s my prediction for the opening songs. Oh, and one more thing. They nailed the composed section of the Fluff. Way to go fellas!
Wow, the day we thought would never come! Phish has just announced three shows at Hampton Coliseum in March! I can barely write down these words, my body is shaking with excitement! Everybody remembers what a sad day it was when we heard they were breaking up, this feels like the opposite multiplied by a million!
Hampton is an interesting choice, obviously it’s their favorite place to play, so where better to reunite. But it is a small venue, so it’ll probably be tough to get tickets. At least they have a two ticket limit this time, I remember shows where you could get up to 8, which never seemed all that fair.
They do mention more dates are coming in 2009, so even if we miss out on the first shows, there’s more phishy goodness coming down the pipe. Yeah!
Official word on the shows can be found here and you can request tickets here.
This is so far from confirmed it probably shouldn’t even be taken seriously, but over at the Coventry Phish blog you can find a list of possible spring tour dates for the impending Phish reunion.
Looks like a pretty solid list to me, we can only hope we’d be so lucky as to get phish in the spring! I’m already trying to figure out which shows I could hit!
I’m sure we’ll see more of this kind of stuff as the actually reunion gets closer and closer. I can only imagine what the first show back will be like. I remember new years eve at MSG in ‘02, you could barely hear the first 10 minutes of Piper the crowd was going so crazy!
Hidden Track is reporting that Phish has played together again for the first time in four years at the wedding of former road manager Brad Sands. Now we’re talking! All the rumors and interviews and now this! Very cool. Sounds like some clips are starting to show up on YouTube, like this one (really poor quality, but hey, it’s phish, so people are psyched!).
From the report on Hidden Track:
“The quartet treated the crowd to a three song set that included old standbys Suzy Greenberg, Julius and Waste.”
This is really exciting, and hopefully it’s just a hint of what is on the way in the coming months. It’s crazy to see the momentum for Phish growing again, after what we were sure was the end. Yeah!
Just came across this great clip again from the Rothbury Festival earlier this year. It’s as close to a Phish reunion as we’ve had since the band broke up in 2004. Pretty cool to see Trey, Mike and Jon all playing together again. I remember when I first saw this it gave me chills, just to see those guys up on stage playing music once more. Enjoy.
On August 15th, 2004, the last note sounded and the band walked off the stage for the last time. It was bittersweet, and for many marked the end of an incredible chapter in our lives. Since then, we’ve been left with our memories, and the shows that we listen to over and over, remembering all the magic that was Phish. There were side projects and solo projects and then Trey’s stint in rehab. And then it began, slowly at first, and then more and more. Rumors. Trey is out of rehab, the band is talking. What? Could it be? Is the Phish coming back? Recently the impossible is starting to look more likely, and we’ll be there to bring you all the latest updates about the return of the Phish!
